Van Gogh painted roses during his time at the asylum in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence.

He painted them in soft pink tones—alive, immediate, close to bloom. The kind of colour that feels familiar in its intensity: the early stage of attachment, when something small already starts to matter more than you expected.
